Role Overview: Senior Assistants at AAI

The Airports Authority of India (AAI), a Miniratna Public Sector Enterprise, is inviting applications from domiciled residents of Eastern Region states for various Senior Assistant positions. The roles are at the NE-6 level and will be based at different AAI airports and establishments in West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Sikkim.

The specific roles available are:

  • Senior Assistant (Electronics): 21 vacancies
  • Senior Assistant (Accounts): 10 vacancies
  • Senior Assistant (Official Language): 1 vacancy

 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, candidates must meet domicile, age, and qualification requirements as of July 1, 2025.

Domicile: Applicants must be residents of West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, or Sikkim.

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old. The upper age limit is relaxable for certain categories:

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • Regular AAI Employees: 10 years (with additional relaxation for SC/ST/OBC)
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per government regulations.
  • Widows, divorced women, and judicially separated women: Up to 35 years (with further relaxations for SC/ST/OBC).

 

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following educational qualifications and experience:

  • Sr. Assistant (Electronics):
    • Education: Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunication, or Radio Engineering.
    • Experience: Two years of relevant experience in the discipline.
  • Sr. Assistant (Accounts):
    • Education: Graduate, preferably B.Com.
    • Experience: Two years of relevant experience in the field.
    • Skills: Must pass a Computer Literacy test in MS Office.
  • Sr. Assistant (Official Language):
    • Education: A Master’s degree in Hindi or English with the other language as a subject at the graduation level, or other specific combinations involving both languages. A translation diploma/certificate or two years of translation experience is also required for certain educational backgrounds.
    • Experience: Two years of relevant experience.
    • Skills: Must pass a Computer Literacy test in MS Office (Hindi).

Note: Only post-qualification experience gained on a full-time basis will be considered.


 

Salary & Benefits

Successful candidates will be placed in the NE-6 Level with a pay scale of ₹36,000 – 3% – ₹1,10,000.

In addition to the basic pay, employees are entitled to:

  • Dearness Allowance
  • Perks at 35% of Basic pay
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA)
  • Other benefits including CPF, Gratuity, Social Security Schemes, and Medical benefits as per AAI rules.
  • Pay protection may be provided to eligible candidates joining from other PSUs or government departments.

 

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online only through the AAI website’s career page.

  • Opening Date for Online Registration: August 5, 2025
  • Last Date for Online Application: August 26, 2025
  • Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of ₹1000 is required for UR, OBC, and EWS category candidates.
  • Fee Exemption: Women, SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, and apprentices who have completed one year of training in AAI are exempt from the fee.

 

Steps to Apply:
  1. Sign-Up: Candidates must first register on the AAI portal by providing their name, post applied for, mobile number, and email ID to receive a User ID and password.
  2. Fill Application: Log back in and complete the application form with personal and qualification details.
  3. Upload Documents: Upload a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and other required documents (like educational certificates, domicile proof, and category certificates) in the specified format and size.
  4. Fee Payment: If applicable, pay the application fee online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
  5. Submission: Preview the application for accuracy and submit. No changes can be made after final submission.

 

Selection Process

The selection process involves a Computer Based Test (CBT).

  • Exam Details: The online test will be for 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. There is no negative marking.
  • Syllabus Breakdown:
    • Sr. Assistant (Electronics & Accounts): 70% of questions will be from the subject discipline, and 30% from General Knowledge, General Intelligence, General Aptitude, and English.
    • Sr. Assistant (Official Language): 50% of questions will be from the subject discipline, and 50% from the general topics mentioned above.
  • Skill Test: For the Sr. Assistant (Accounts) and Sr. Assistant (Official Language) posts, candidates who qualify in the CBT must also pass a Computer Literacy Test in MS Office. Final appointment is based on CBT merit, subject to qualifying in this skill test.
